Cassis and minty eucalyptus aromas. Ripe juicy dark fruits. Poised and focussed with great
concentration and length.

Alkoomi Blackbutt 2008
Frankland River, Western Australia

The 2008 Blackbutt is 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Cabernet Franc and 20% Malbec assembled from our oldest vineyard blocks. Deep crimson with flecks of ruby; at first glance the wine displays its youth. A wine of elegance and restraint showing varietal Cabernet Sauvignon sweet cassis with the floral lift given by the Cabernet Franc and complexed with the cedary notes of French oak. The palate is intense and seamless supported by the robust primary fruit characters of the Malbec component. The 2008 Blackbutt will continue to develop and build
complexity over many more years to come and I look forward to watching it evolve.

Mid straw with brilliant gold highlights. Crème brûlée and roasted almond aromas with attractive lemon blossom notes. Delicate honeysuckle and vanilla bean are evident along with typical Semillon grassiness and lemon zest flavours.
